Gaijin Entertainment’s vehicular multiplayer shooter War Thunder has just received a massive new update.
The “Masters of the Sea” update adds fleet battles, and with it, over 80 vessels spread across the US, German, and Soviet tech trees. The British ship line is also entering beta, and Gaijin Entertainment is looking for veteran players to help test the vessels before they receive a widespread release.
Warships aren’t the only new toys players can look forward to. The update also introduces the German helicopter tech tree, as well as new tanks, armored vehicles, and warplanes for several nations. You can read more about the patch here, and find the launch trailer above.
This patch also marks the full release of the Xbox One version of War Thunder. Xbox One owners no longer need to buy a founder’s pack to play, and can immediately download the game as long as they are Xbox Live subscribers.
War Thunder is free-to-play on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux (all via Steam), PS4, and Xbox One.
