Vehicle combat game War Thunder recently announced Senrai Maidens, a new line of cosmetics adding anime waifus to the usually dead serious multiplayer game.

The Senrai Maidens includes three new characters, Kate, Elsa, and Maria, each with their own unique tanks and cosmetic options.

Traditionally, War Thunder has been a game based around realism. This has gotten to the point where players have famously leaked classified or otherwise restricted documents in order to argue for balance changes grounded in realism.

But there’s no denying there’s probably a not insubstantial overlap between military nerds and anime nerds. However players who play War Thunder for the immersion, will have the option to turn off “fictional content” in battle.

Please note! Senrai Maidens’ characters are not added to the game and appear in the images next to the vehicles solely for visual purposes. The unique vehicle camouflages in these packs are fictional and if the “Show content in the battle: Except fictional” option is enabled in the “Customization of Vehicles” settings, these will appear to other players as historical camouflages for similar vehicles, but with the characteristic exterior customization elements preserved
