War of Ashird

Developer Kumiho Soft has announced the official website for War of Ashird is now live, along with the game now listed on Steam, and release dates.

Kumiho Soft’s official English Twitter made the announcement across two tweets [1, 2], the first revealed the official website, and the second that the game was now listed on Steam, available for adding to user’s wishlists.

Originally teased back in October 2019 by Igrasil Studio, not much information was shared at the time. Though the official website and its press kit, we know more about the game.

The game takes place on the continent of Ashird. After a massive earthquake tears open the land, and the Demon King and his armies ravish the land, and devastated the Prisean Empire.

Eventually, an alliance of free cities defeated the demons, and the alliance formed a new kingdom, Ceredia. However, the book of the “Chronicles of Ceredia” hide a terrible secret. The Demon King did not die, and he will return.

Players control a young soldier by the name of Deegan, choosing which faction to side with in a new war; the Prisean Empire, the Kingdom of Ceredia, or the Free Cities’ Alliance.

As their reputation grows, players take territory in the “Hybrid Combat System” and Teo skills, gain their own home (complete with maids), castle, lands, and chase romances.

Along with multiple endings, there is a New Game+ mode.

Features

A unique hybrid of grid-based and turn-based combat: We play quite a few RPGs ourselves, so we know how important it is that the battles are exciting and feel unique! To accomplish this, War of Ashird uses a combination of systems: Normal battles are grid-based, with up to 7 characters engaging an enemy army. When fighting a boss, laying siege to a castle, or conquering new territory, however, the game uses a turn-based battle system with three party members instead.

‍A world full of possibilities: You can visit 20 cities, each with their own story, character events, and guild quests. By exploring all of them, maybe you’ll uncover some mysteries…?

‍More than 20 playable characters with a unique personality: Build your team with over 20 unique characters where each of them has their stories and personality.

‍Own land and become lord of a castle: Who wouldn’t want to be master of their own domain—and who wouldn’t want to expand it further? But wait… if you have a castle, you’ll need a helpful maid to take care of it! As your rank rises in Ceredia, you’ll get your own land, a castle, and one of four lovely servants.

Forge your own story: You can decide how to finish certain tasks and missions, which will shape your character as the game goes on. Are you going to protect your kingdom, or are you going to destroy it—along with everything else? The choice is yours.

War of Ashird launches 2021 on Windows PC (via Steam), and 2022 on Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
