Bummed out that Google is supposedly buying out Twitch? Worried they’ll do to Twitch what they did to Youtube? Well, okay, perhaps some folks like the new features, larger (more obtrusive) GUI and the impersonal profile page that no one ever seems to use anymore…but many do not…and if you’re one of those people then you probably have been searching for a new streaming site alternative.

You might have such an option in the newly launched GamingLive website, which aims to be Twitch’s main competitor and the go-to place for disenchanted anti-google folks.

As of this writing, the site is very selective about whom they let make an account. Apparently they want all channels within the first month or so to be active so as to not create the impression amongst visitors that people are merely registering and leaving. Though this won’t always be the case, potential streamers must apply for an account and hope they get chosen.

What happens to Twitch remains to be seen, but it’s always nice to see a competitor rise up and give the leader a reason to work harder.
