Square Enix and Taro Yoko have announced Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, a new tabletop RPG focused on cards.
This is likely the same download-only game that Yoko was teasing previously, alongside working with composer Keiichi Okabe again.
Yoko was quick to point out that Voice of Cards is not connected to the Drakengard series (and therefore not the NieR series), and is not a social-focused game (and likely not for smartphones).
Here’s the involved staff:
- Creative Director – Taro Yoko
- Executive Producer – Yosuke Saito
- Music Director – Keiichi Okabe
- Character Designer – Kimihiko Fujisaka
If this is the same game teased previously, at the time Yoko said the game was “a game that’s somewhat off. I like it. I want people to play it, but I have no idea how to get them to play it.”
Yusuke Saito noted the game is “nostalgic but with a new feel” and that other Square Enix staff complimented the game while even adding that “it looks like it’s going to sell really well!”
