The Vita version of Minecraft is coming alongside the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 ports, but a lot of fans have been worried that the Vita version would be based off the mobile version.

Why would this be a reason to worry? Well, for one the mobile version is a stripped down version of Minecraft, which is missing lots of key features and generally doesn’t get updated as often.

Well, fear not Minecraft fans and Vita owners, Jeb has answered your cries in a reddit thread:

I replied to this question elsewhere… Short answer is that the Vita will use the code base for consoles, and not from Pocket Edition.

The console version is still definitely behind the definitive and original PC version, but they have been getting a lot of snazzy exclusive DLC. Maybe the Playstation versions will get those DLC packs as well?
