Visual Novel-Inspired 2D Fighter Golden Fantasia Comes West

Manga Gamer has announced a western release for Golden Fantasia CROSS, the publisher’s very first fighting game.

Based on Umineko When They Cry, the 07th Expansion-developed fighting game includes various characters from the visual novel series. Featured above, you can view the game’s opening movie.

Originally released back in 2011 for PC and Xbox 360 in Japan, players will make use of the game’s tag-team battle system and 19 different playable characters. Now, the game is getting a PC release in the west – however a release date wasn’t confirmed.

Here’s a breakdown on the game, via Manga Gamer:

Drawing from the highly-acclaimed visual novel, this 2D tag-team fighting game features 19 different characters from the series that can be paired to create a wide variety of different match-ups! Combine meta world abilities and fighting styles between partners to create your best tag-team for crushing the competition! Change-up your tag-outs to control the flow the battle–whether pressing an attack, halting a rushdown, escaping from potential stun or guard break, or to recover chip damage–timing your tag is an important key to victory!
