Visions of Mana gets nostalgic Japanese retrospective video on the series

Visions of Mana

Square Enix has premiered a nostalgic and promotional trailer for Visions of Mana that gives a retrospective look on the entire franchise.

The new “Continue your life with Mana” trailer goes through the entire history of the Mana series, from the perspective of a fan.

Fans of the series will know the original Mana / Seiken Densetsu game was actually a spinoff from Final Fantasy, starting with the 1991 Game Boy game titled simply Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden and Final Fantasy Adventure in the west. The young boy discovers the game in his local game store.

The series got its first proper and original entry with the landmark 1993 release Seiken Densetsu 2Secret of Mana for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo, followed by Seiken Densetsu 3 / Trials of Mana in 1995 – and here we see the slightly older boy enjoying it with his friends.

Finally, we see the boy, now a young man, picking up the 2006 release Seiken Densetsu 4 / Dawn of Mana and enjoying it after work. We also get quick glimpses of various spinoff titles like Legend of Mana and others.

Eventually the promo video fast-forwards to the modern year, 2024, and shows off the adult aged man, now a commuting worker, seeing the latest and forthcoming mainline title – Visions of Mana – where his adventure will begin again.

Here’s the new video:

Visions of Mana is set to launch sometime in summer 2024 for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
