A fan of the series Violet Evergarden spotted the character being used at a recruitment booth for the United States Marine Corps.
The fanart features the titular character marching in an early 20th century uniform based off of a World War I recruitment poster by Sidney H. Reisenberg.

The original fanart was created by the artist Eromoeba on Pixiv (also known as DareDragon on Deviant Art). According to the description on Deviant Art, the piece was a commission for an individual known as “depsapairsensei”.
Despite being a faithful recreation of the original recruitment poster, it features an anachronistic encouragement to “Enlist at Marines.com”. Some individuals have speculated that the original commissioner may be a part of the Marines.
Violet Evergarden follows the titular character, a former soldier who now works as an Auto Memories Doll. An Auto Memories Doll is a title for women who work as scribes or ghost writers for those who have trouble expressing themselves in writing.
