Vicarious Visions’ Studio Head Jen Oneal has confirmed there will be no microtransactions in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 at launch.
In an interview with GameSpot, Oneal stated there would be no microtransactions in the game at launch. However, paid content could come at a later date if there was demand.
Oneal explains “Everything that you see at launch is going to be unlocked with gameplay. We’re not planning on having monetization at launch.” She added that Vicarious Visions wanted to ensure players received a “complete package.”
She also stated (in GameSpot’s words) that if there was a demand for additional content, “Vicarious Visions might consider releasing more stuff to buy with real money down the road.”
GameSpot also speculated if the game would support cross-platform multiplayer, as Activision had done with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty: Warzone. Oneal reportedly “stopped short” of confirming this, only stating “When the time comes we will say more.”
In case you missed it, part of the game’s soundtrack was recently revealed. During the interview, Oneal revealed that (in GameSpot’s words) “Activision was not able to secure every song from the original games due to licensing issues.” She did state “All of your favorites will be there.”
