Venus Vacation PRISM: Dead or Alive Xtreme has no DLC planned

Venus Vacation PRISM: Dead or Alive Xtreme

Hot on the heels of confirming a release date for Venus Vacation PRISM: Dead or Alive Xtreme, we’ve learned the game currently has no DLC planned.

The first dating sim in the series from Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja, Venus Vacation PRISM: Dead or Alive Xtreme apparently has no plans for post-launch downloadable content – at least for now.

A new interview with game producer Yasunori Sakuda reveals the game would have to be reimagined to fit more girls into its story and gameplay.

“Basically, we do not plan to add girls as DLC,” Sakuda said to Game Watch. “The reason for this is that in Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation you can add girls if you only want to get to know one girl, but in this game, you can choose which girl you want to get to know in this situation. In this game, we want the players to choose ‘which girl they would like to get to know better in this situation’ and enjoy how the situation is intertwined with the main story.”

Sakuda explained that adding new girls that you could romance after the game launches would require rethinking its main story and potentially rewriting things.

“Adding girls after the fact would be a bit difficult, since we would have to re-create the game once again to take into account the combination with other girls, etc,” Sakuda said. “If that is the case, we would have to re-create the game again for the next release. In that case, I think it would be better to create a new story in the form of the next game.”

Don’t lose hope quite yet for more date-able girls in the first Dead or Alive dating sim, as we know the series has become (in)famous for DLC and the team isn’t writing off more content yet.

“It is not impossible to add episodes,” Sakuda teased. “We would like to reflect the feedback we get after the game is actually released. I can’t promise that we will be able to do it, but we will take our decision carefully.”

Venus Vacation PRISM: Dead or Alive Xtreme is set to launch on March 6th, 2025 for Windows PC (via Steam and DMM Games), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The game will support Japanese and English languages. It’s worth noting a multi-language physical release for PS4 and PS5 is available to pre-order via our friends at Play-Asia.
