Futurlab has confirmed that Velocity 2X, the long awaited sequel, is heading to North America and Europe in September.
North Americans can expect the game on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on September 2nd, while Europeans will get the game the following day on September 3rd. Whether you buy the game on PS4 or Vita, you’ll be able to exchange your save data between the two platforms, and you’ll get the other copy free, via cross-buy.
Futurlab managing director James Marsden talked a bit more about the game, why it’s a contender for GOTY, and its pedigree:
“How can I be so sure?” Marsden asked. “Think about what game-of-the-year means: best-in-class for audio, graphics, gameplay quality & production value.”
“When you get your hands on Velocity 2X, I know you’ll agree: with layers of depth and complexity of the gameplay features, the ambition is vast even compared to AAA titles. We have great teleporting, tele-dashing, scroll boost and telepods that all mesh together seamlessly. Also puzzles, platforming, gorgeous shmup-action, amazing boss fights and kick-ass gunplay!”
