Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Senior Narrative Designer Cara Ellison Leaves the Project

Publisher Paradox Interactive has confirmed yet another high-level staff member has departed Hardsuit Labs, the studio behind Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Senior narrative designer Cara Ellison has left the project (via PC Gamer) and is no longer at Hardsuit Labs, news confirmed a month or two after both lead writer Brian Mitsoda and creative director Ka’ai Cluney were fired from the project.

Rumors began to swirl after Ellison removed references to the project from her Twitter profile (usually the quickest way to learn someone was fired these days). The reasoning behind Cara’s departure isn’t clear, but she’s already working at her new job at League of Geeks, as their new senior narrative designer.

“We can confirm that Cara Ellison has decided to leave Hardsuit Labs and is no longer working on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2,” a Paradox spokesperson said. “Cara brought fresh ideas to the project and many of her contributions will be present in the game launching next year. We thank her for her work on Bloodlines 2 and wish her the best in all of her future endeavors.”

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was originally announced nearly two years ago, only to get delayed into late 2020, and more recently it got delayed again into 2021. The original Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is generally loved by fans for its writing and wide cast of characters, so there’s a good amount of expectation on its sequel.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 launches 2021 for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
