Valve is Overhauling Their Steam Curator System

Valve has announced a major overhaul of their Steam Curator program, which the company released back in September of 2014 as a community-focused expansion of their Steam platform.

Set to release in the next few weeks, the new overhaul will enhance functionality for curators, regular Steam goers, and even developers. You’ll be able to embed videos, customize your curator page, and even make lists of games you’ve reviewed by theme.

Furthermore, curators are getting enhanced tracking functionality so that you’ll be able to see how your reviews impacted your follower’s shopping behavior in the Steam store. Developers will get a “Curator Connect” system that will let them search for curators and give them Steam keys without even leaving Steam and falling prey to nobodies looking to scam for free games.

Lastly, regular Steam users will see curator recommendations in more places, like at the top of tag and genre pages. Valve is also working on improving their “recommended curators” system with the goal of players finding new curators possibly worth following.

Niche Gamer has a curator page where we only post games we recommend – you can find that here. Should we start posting literally every review we do, including bad games (but mark them as not recommended, of course)? Sound off in the comments below, and make sure to follow us on Steam Curator! We also have a Steam group in case you’re looking for more friends in our community.
