Valve, in their quest to fully take over the PC gaming landscape, has announced their adding a crowd sourced review system for Steam, called simply Steam Reviews. The beta is already live, and it is limited to game that you’ve played.
You will however, be able to review other peoples’ reviews, like on popular stores such as Amazon. Hopefully this will give more of an insight for players who are on the fence, while probably working better than the abomination known as Metacritic user reviews. A really neat feature is that the review will have your actual played time next embedded within, so if their review stinks to high heaven, their lack of play time might be a clue.
You can check out the splash page for Steam reviews here.
