Indie developer Stunlock Studios has revealed the details on the first post-launch update for V Rising, and it’s quite a big update.
The new update will bring a host of new content to the vampiric survival action RPG, chief of which includes yet another new region “just north of Silverlight.”
That’s all we have to go on with that region for now, unfortunately, but there are a few more teases like a “deadly new gauntlet of V Bloods.” Each region in V Rising has its own theme and caveats, as well as its own “V Blood” mini-bosses that give you power-ups.
Another big addition with the new 1.1 update is the much-demanded “Fusion Forge,” which will finally give players the ability to craft the jewels of their dreams so they can make the ultimate build for their preferred playstyle. Before this loot was mostly randomized, as well as the jewels, so this is a welcome addition.
The new Fusion Forge will let players take their two favorite weapons that have their preferred traits or attributes, pick the ones you want, and create a new jewel that gives that modifier to a new piece of gear. This will dramatically change up the end-game with players crafting even more specialty gear.
Stunlock is also giving players another long-demanded feature: what they’re calling “risk-free” player-versus-player combat. This will boil down to letting players duel each other directly or construct their own “arenas” in their castles where they’ll also duke it out.
Each PVP mode, once completed, will revert players back to their state before the battle and won’t see them lose their gear or health. The new PVP modes aren’t limited to one-on-one either, multiple players can join in for a big battle royale.
All of the new content for V Rising’s 1.1 update will be released throughout 2025 and Stunlock is promising even more new content and features that aren’t revealed yet.
V Rising hit full release back in May 2024 for Windows (via Steam) and got a PS5 port in June 2024. Get our thorough review here!
