V Rising teases multi-level castles, new tech, more in first update in 2023

V Rising

Developer Stunlock Studios has finally detailed the next content update for V Rising, though it won’t be releasing until 2023.

The new update comes after “many months” of further development and feedback-gathering on the vampire survival action RPG.

Stunlock is teasing multi-level castles, marketplaces and trading, a new biome loaded with quartz, an overhaul of spells, new tech, a new “jewels” system, and the expected expansion of the game’s overworld map.

The new jewels system will let players craft jewels to “unlock new perks for their spells,” thus making customizing tailored to each playstyle.

Stunlock teases players can get various “spell-school-specific effects” to make stronger effects, even triggering “explosions, novas, forking projectiles, and more.” The team also teases “lots of smaller improvements on our wishlist” that will “add to the immersion of the game.”

These range from small things like being able to finally sit in non-throne chairs, turning your lights off and on, secret doors and passageways, placing signs, and even naming your castle.

As with any big content updates and or tweaks to V Rising – this will require a server wipe and reset, so be ready to say goodbye to your existing save(s) and progress.

V Rising has been available for Windows PC via Steam, via early access. In case you missed it – we found the game extremely promising in our video and written preview – which you can find here.
