To say V Rising has been a success might be an understatement, so much so that developer Stunlock Studios are stunned over its success.
The game had a day one peak of 46,000 players and has only grown since then. At the time of writing, V Rising has over 110,000 playing on right now – which makes it good for one of the top 10 games with most concurrent gamers.
The developer talked about their surprise with V Rising’s success in an interview shortly after it launched.
“I absolutely did not expect this many people”, said Stunlock’s community manager Jeremy Fielding to IGN just as V Rising hit 80,000 players and sold 500,000 copies overall. “I don’t think anybody expected it to be quite this big.”
This interview was published only a couple days ago, and seems to have been made before V Rising would hit it’s current all-time peak of 150,645 according to SteamDB.
It was also no surprise when indie developer Stunlock Studios confirmed the game has managed to reach the 1 million sales milestone.
As the game is still in early access, the developers still have many things that plan on adding in. One such example would be the inclusion of an offline mode for those who don’t or cannot play online.
