The recent slice of life series Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! will be receiving a second season in the near future.

The new season was announced in a Twitter post from the official Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! account. Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! stars the titular Uzaki as she tries to catch the eye of her upper classman Sakurai Shinichi. Her attempts usually end with her in compromising situations with visual fanservice.

You can read the summary from Seven Seas Entertainment below.

“Sakurai Shinichi’s one wish is for a little peace and quiet. But Uzaki Hana–his boisterous, well-endowed underclassman–has other plans. All she wants is to hang out and poke fun at him. With the help of her chipper charm and peppy persistence, this might just be the start of a beautiful relationship! Fans of slice-of-life comedy Tomo-chan is a Girl! are sure to enjoy this new “odd couple” tale about sexy misadventures in a college setting.”

As reported previously here on Nicchiban, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! was at the heart of a controversy involving Japan’s Red Cross last year. Critics felt that her character design was too sexualized and objectifying while fans argued that women come in all sizes and her character design represented that.

The promotion between the Japanese Red Cross and Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! was ultimately canceled. This also caused the Japanese Red Cross to cancel other collaborations including one with virtual YouTuber Akatsuki UNI.

Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! season 2 has no confirmed release date at the time of publishing.
