Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Gameplay Trailer

Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen

NIS America have released a new gameplay trailer for Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen.

Part visual novel, part strategy RPG, the game is a remake of the first Utawarerumono game- which was never released in the west. Each character has their own set of abilities and skills, which can be chained together by themselves or with their allies.

While beast people live in tribes on the outskirt of civilization, a young girl from one of these settlements brought a dying young man to her village. While he recovered, he lost all his memories.

Later called Hakuolo, he adapted to life in the village. After a bountiful harvest, a local feudal lord sends his troops to seize the food for himself. This simple act would lead to the events of Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.

You can find the gameplay trailer below.

You can find the full rundown (via the NIS America Store) below.

For the first time ever, the origins of the Utawarerumono saga are coming overseas! Prelude to the Fallen follows the story of a young man with no memories who awakens in a strange world. He is taken in by a tribe of kindhearted villagers, accepted as one of their own, and given the name “Hakuowlo.” When neighboring nations begin to encroach on his village, Hakuowlo rises up against the tyrannical invaders, setting off on an unforgettable journey that lives on in the songs of legend.
