Utada Hikaru is Working on the Kingdom Hearts III Theme Song

We’ve learned (via KHInsider) a bit of news that is sure to make any veteran Kingdom Hearts fan squeal with glee – Utada Hikaru is working on the main theme song for Kingdom Hearts III.

The news was confirmed by Utada Teruzane, the father and manager of Hikaru, who confirmed the news over on Twitter:

“We’ll do it. Actually we have already started. Sorry for keeping you waiting. teruzane @ritch_diaz @utadahikaru Still Waiting for a confirma[tion].”

The reason why the wording is a bit hazy in this response is because there was a big mixup a few years ago regarding her involvement.

Hikaru is known for her songs “Simple and Clean” for the original Kingdom Hearts, as well as “Sanctuary” for its sequel, Kingdom Hearts II.

Kingdom Hearts III is set for a release on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Do you want Utada Hikaru to perform the game’s theme song? Sound off in the comments below, and make sure to let Hikaru and Teruzane know you want her singing for the series again!
