Undertale Heading to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita

Toby Fox’s darling indie game Undertale is coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

The PlayStation 4 and PS Vita releases are coming sometime this summer. A physical version is coming via Fan Gamer, with a Collector’s Edition coming with: an illustrated booklet, the game’s soundtrack, a musical locket, and a special edition box.

Undertale is currently available for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Tumblrtale should have stayed away, this trash is guaranteed to be a Plus pick eventually.

It’s just a very mediocre game that doesn’t deserve half the reputation it has/had. It tries to combine interesting elements (timed hits, bullet hell, morality system) but delivers them in a very bare bones way. I would never recommend this to anyone.

    It’s worth 5 bucks.

I appreciate the game getting a port. Even if the story is a bit meh it’s good for what it is, and I hope Vita and PS4 owners enjoy the game.

JUST DON’T TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT IT! Seriously the UT community is Sonic OC levels of cringe.

Exactly. And don’t forget how uptight the game is about its “morality”.

What are the moral choices there?

Not fighting monsters and being nice to the ones that want to kill you = moral.

This only works if it turns out to fuck you over in the end kinda like Grizzly Man.

Yeah, there’s barely any incentive to spare these monsters anyway. Am I really supposed to feel bad for attacking one that tries to kill me?

Bioshock’s “kill 1 girl and you are a monster” ending was a bit of a stretch, but this sounds awful.

That’s all we need is a resurgence of the over rated games fanbase with new recruits.

Gotta love when games that only seem to have competent morality mechanics decide to cling to Kantian ethics and pretend that there is no grey area. Morality isn’t as simple as going “this is moral, that is immoral”.

Plus from a purely logical perspective if you defeat a violent individual who jumped out of the bushes to kill you it may be more moral to kill him to prevent him from hurting or killing anyone else.

Seems like it was a game like that was inspired by the Newgrounds game

The Visit without thinking about how killing the crabs in the game is wrong because they aren’t enemies instead of it just being a game where Mario is put on trail for killing a goomba that’s about to kill him and being called a terrible person for doing it.

One of the very few games I’d consider giving a 10/10. Totally worth the pick up if you haven’t played it! (Yeah, the fanbase is pretty garbo, just.. Try to ignore that.)

All this negativity towards a game that is only getting it because of it’s coverage and fanbase. It wouldn’t be “overrated” if people didn’t praise it to be the Holy God of game instead of the “pretty good game” that it is.
It goes both ways too. The hate is just as strong as the obsessives, claiming it to be the “worst game of all time because of fag-lizards and sjw reeeeeee.”

“Overrated” is just another way of saying “I don’t like this game as much as everyone else did.”

I always raise a brow at games that people consider 10/10, because that’s equivalent to giving the game a rating of “perfect”, that it can do no wrong. And as much as I’ve loved recent games like Bravely Second and Kirby Planet Robobot, not even they get a 10/10 in my book (maybe a 9.8/10 at best) because I always consider there might be a game that does better. And vice versa.

Yeah, like, I’ll actually buy this and probably enjoy it, I’ve heard the music, and understand the general concept, and actually enjoy sappy games that make you think about feelings and life and such, but there’s no way in hell I’d step near the fanbase. The fanbase I’ve seen at ‘cons I’ve been to and such, appears to be a massive toxic trainwreck of tumblrites, sjws, furries, etc, all competing to alternatively draw porn, write fanfic, and otherwise generally creep you out with how “revolutionary” the game is, and their obsessions with the characters.

The game is pretty cancer, but can still be enjoyed on some level; mainly the soundtrack however.

Now the fan-base, oof. Do yourself a favor and NEVER interact with the fanbase.

Sadly you’re right on the money. It’s true that fanbases in general are the worst part of most things out there, but Undertale’s is a unique breed of bad.
