What a shame that anyone who dares criticize the negative depictions of most female characters in video games is insulted and labelled a “troll”.

Just goes to show that a lot of things still need to change in the industry.

That’s correct but facts are irrelevant to libtards. They would shoehorn in Chloe as a lesbian regardless or reveal that she’s somehow bisexual.

With the amount of SJWs in Naughty Dog I wouldn’t be surprise. It’s a real shame considering that there is some great talent over there.

Boy do I really hate SJWs. Whenever I see a new game with female protag, the first though that comes to mind is “Is the main character female because of the developers’ identity politics?”. Which is a real shame because I think there are stories that you can’t tell the same way with male characters. For example I recently played through Beyond: Two Souls and the fact that the main character was female did bring something to the story/game that I don’t think you could have quite done the same with a male main character.

SJWs don’t understand that logic, it was the same with the Tomb Raider reboot, a male main character probably wouldn’t have “suffered” as much as Lara did unless you went out of your way to make him a whiny little beta or something.

Japan understands that while guys like female characters, they don’t like their female characters to be “men” with vaginas. Give me a Revy (from Black Lagoon) type of character over any Naughty Dog female character and I’d be perfectly fine with a female protagonist lol

That’s because the “criticism” so far has been a mix of half-truths,outright lies and shaming attempts targeted towards developers, gamers and publishers. Also, the “positive roles” usually means they are a gimmick more than a character.Because these characters usually don’t have any flaws.Leading to a boring, highly generic unlikeable characters.

There is no “narrative”. It’s just a case of Western society FINALLY realizing that women wanted to be treated as equals.

The reason why people like you think there is a “narrative” or “agenda” is because you cannot stand the fact that girls/women are now being depicted in respectable and positive roles rather than just sex objects.

That, by logic, makes you a sexist. You probably just don’t know it, because society has shaped it up that way for centuries.

And the “fictional” argument does not pass. What’s important is what is being depicted. It doesn’t make a difference whether they are fictional or not.

You’ll find that Japan is one of the most xenophobic and racist societies out there, with a vile habit of treating their girls and women like sex objects, especially in video games.

Example: Nier Automata. Why on earth does a combat android need to wear a dress with a skirt so short that it exposes her underwear? And does a combat android need to wear high heels?

So if that’s your impression of “success” then I pity you, I really do.

It’s pretty weird how loads of countries out their have a pretty strong distaste of foreigners especially in Asia yet the Japanese get blasted because they don’t have open borders like Europe or completely unsecured ones like the US. Japan’s one of the more foreigner friendly countries out there they just don’t import them by the hundreds of thousands but I regress. “Vile habit of treating their girls and women like sex objects” do you have any evidence of this or is your entire idea of Japanese culture from god damn comics and video games? How do SJW types get so riled up at Japan of all places when you have countries like Saudi Arabia where women can’t fucking drive? Not even going into the whole “showing a woman in any position that I don’t approve up based on my regressive dogma is sexist!” or the whole “fictional women have rights” tripe.

“Why on earth does a combat android need to wear a dress with a skirt so short that it exposes her underwear?” and “muh high heels” because the creator likes sexy women and it’s his artistic vision? In laymen’s terms he can create whatever he wants and your dumbass metric of how ‘progressive’ it is doesn’t really matter, like at all. Or I guess being anti-art is just up their with the whole “this hurts my feelings” schtick that you cockroaches love to spout. How the fuck is some madman making some awesome shit ‘unacceptable’ in what world does 2B’s bodacious booty cause some woman to get beaten half to death and raped?

“Sure they make money but at the cost of MY FEELINGS” financially all of these awful regressive women-beating Japanese games are doing pretty well over here, and since video games are a business that’s what really matters not how progressive they are to people who really don’t care to begin with.

Really I hope I’m the retard in this exchange and you’re just an incredibly subtle troll otherwise I really pity you. What happens in a girl’s life to make them turn to tumblr, seriously?

All that aside all of those disgusting gook games are selling pretty well which is the metric for success in this industry, sucks huh capitalism and all.

I mean I guess you’re right after all 2B’s booty was really a conspiracy to get those awful whites to sexually assault poor wymin of color, I mean a booty that real could only be used for evil after all. Really though what goes wrong in a woman’s life to make her go full tumblr?

Men or male characters cannot be sexualized. It’s also not possible to be sexist against men regarding this situation.

When male characters are put in positions of so-called “sexualization”, they are still strong, powerful and are in complete control. When female audiences see men/male characters like this, they don’t see the “sexualization”. Instead, they see the powerful and strong personality the man/male character has. It’s also a male power fantasy as well, so it’s harmless.

However, when women or female characters are sexualized for straight male audiences, it becomes predatory. The woman/female character completely loses her agency, personality, power and control, and becomes nothing more than a sex object, solely for the pleasure of men to perve over. This is harmful to girls and women, which makes it completely unacceptable.

So your point is that when male characters are sexualized “It’s a point of power and positivity for the ‘male race’ invigorating their shared male-force to go and continually rape the poor weak oppressed womyn”. I mean you’d have a point except it’s not men lusting over the actor who plays Thor, or that dude from 50 shades of Grey, or Edward from Twilight, or Justin Bieber, or One Direction, or that dude from the movies about that male stripper. Are all of those just instances of the unstoppable male power fantasy? I mean so many dudes want to be strippers after all, and there is no way that a man can feel a bit annoyed that women are collectiving gushing their panties over some effeminate weirdo not wearing a shirt.

Oh no but portraying a woman who looks good and is wearing something that may or may not be revealing is just terrible I mean that activates the male rape center after all. Like it totally eliminates her agency and power, somehow, I mean Bayonetta is basically the basic bitch of Enzo, Rodin, and Luka after all and not the other way around. It’s so harmful to young girls I mean when they see women who objectively look better than them they get really jealou- I mean triggered super hard so hard that they get raped by thousands of invisible ghost dongs. That’s right male pigs when you lust over 2B you’re mind raping thousands of helpless young wymyn everywhere, some of them of color too!

“B-but power dynamics you can’t degrade men/male characters, I mean Luka isn’t the bottom of every joke in Bayonetta and their totally aren’t multiple fetishes centered around men being degraded”. Again you keep trying with this “sexualizing a character degrades them and robs them of agency” nonsense but you can’t actually explain how you’re just making dumbass statements without the balls back any of it up, it’s pathetic. Bayonetta is sexual as hell and maintains agency throughout the entire game, 2B is sexual as hell and maintains agency throughout the entire game, being sexual doesn’t degrade a character. Unless you’re the type of person who feels the need to compete with fictional women.

But then again Art is totally haram if it doesn’t explicitly follow that feminist doctrine eh? “Cry me a river” hey the only one who seems to be crying is you, the boys on this side of history are laughing at you.
