Dave Gilbert, founder of Wadjet Eyes Games, has announced his new project on the Adventure Game Studio forums.
Titled Unavowed, it’s their first fully original and in-house developed game since 2006. Still in early development, the plot seems to revolves around a secret society called Unavowed and their fight against supernatural forces.
For six months, you were possessed by a demon. For six months, you unwillingly tore a trail of bloodshed through New York City. Now, finally, you are rescued by the Unavowed – an ancient society dedicated to stopping evil.
You are free, but your world is in tatters. You have no home, no friends, and you are wanted by the police. You can not return to your old life, but perhaps you can start a new one. Join the Unavowed, and learn to fight against the oncoming darkness.
The list of planned features also presents some changes from the usually seen in Wadjet Eye Games titles:
-
-Choose a male or female protagonist
-Choose one of three playable origin stories
-branching storyline
-A total of five companion characters to choose from. Each with their own talents and abilities.
-Double the resolution of a typical Wadjet Eye Game!
-All the usual guff – voice acting, commentary, original music, etc
It’s to be seen how the multitude of options will affect story coherence, but Wadjet Eyes Games track record does show they have the capability to pull it off, even if at the moment and the early development stage, it’s leading to some caricature programming accidents.
