With the hotly anticipated 2.4 update coming to Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix is seemingly adding even more content to the game.
In a report by Game Watch, we’ve learned that both Ultros and Typhon are making a return in the game. Ultros was a receptionist at the coliseum in Final Fantasy VI, although both him and Typhon will be actual enemies in the Amajina Cup Tournament, where they’ll be pit against the Hero of Light, a challenger from Eorzea.
No real details for the Ul’dah coliseum has come out yet, although we’re expecting there to be some assortment of special conditions, especially considering Ultros being involved now. Next up is the hilarious duo Hildibrand Manderville and his Miqo’te sidekick Nashu Mhakaracca.
Their journey leads them to focus on uncovering the Coliseum’s Treasure, in which Hildibrand and crew literally journey to the aforementioned Amajina Cup Tournament, although it remains to be seen if they can actually compete.
This actually makes up a side-quest for the Amajina Cup Tournament, where the duo have curiously set up a entirely unique area dubbed the “Dragon’s Neck Coliseum,” which is also a throwback to you Final Fantasy VI players out there.
