Ubisoft giving Stadia users free games due to service shutting down

With uncertainty on what will happen to purchased games on Google’s soon to be shut down Stadia, Ubisoft said they’ll give players free copies elsewhere to compensate.

We previously reported that the company will allow users to transfer their games to PC – but they didn’t confirm details until now.

Ubisoft confirmed games owned through Stadia will automatically appear in players libraries on Ubisoft Connect.

Unfortunately, virtual currency is not able to be transferred between services, so they encourage all to spend the rest they have through Stadia to avoid it going to waste.

Their new update also discussed other aspects, such as how cross-progression will be saved, which unfortunately only covers a handful of their titles.

Users that were using Ubisoft+ Multi-Access through Stadia can be assured that they can continue using the service via Amazon Luna. Subscribers will also get a voucher for one free month of the service if they sign up directly with the company.

Finally, all customers will also receive a coupon for one free month of GeForce NOW Priority Membership, which is another cloud service to ease users into cloud gaming elsewhere from Stadia.

Got into gaming thanks to a nice old lady who lived across the street. Enjoy most genres of games.
