Ubisoft Reveals For Honor, a Multiplayer Melee Combat Game

The best part about Mount & Blade were the huge battles that took place when you charged into an enemy’s castle and attempted to seize it. Perhaps seeing this, Ubisoft Montreal has been busy creating For Honor, a game that was revealed today during the company’s E3 presentation.

Set up as an objective-based 4 on 4 multiplayer arena game, players can pick between Samurai, Knights, and Vikings as they charge into the crowded battlefields with their weapons swinging. Combat is fast and visceral, so much so in fact that developer Jason VandenBerghe referred to the melee mechanic system as “The Art of Battle”.

What this means is that the game will focus on heft and realism, making each attack feel real and carry weight with it as you block and swing in response to your enemy.

The game is currently in beta, but you can follow it via its webpage. The game is expected to launch sometime in 2016 for Xbox One, Pc and PS4.
