Ubisoft is skipping E3 2023, will host their own event

Ubisoft

Ubisoft has announced they’re skipping E3 2023, the latest big company to not make an appearance at the annual expo.

“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years,” an Ubisoft spokesperson said to VGC. “While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”

While rumors pointed to Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo all skipping E3 2023 as well – only Nintendo has come forward to officially skip the expo. Microsoft is, however, running their own Xbox Games Showcase just prior to E3 so it’s likely they’ll skip the event too.

This year’s E3 is the first in-person expo they’ve run after being cancelled for a few years, due to the world shutting down over COVID-19.

E3 2023 is running from June 13th through the 16th, and will feature separate industry-only and public-access days.
