Twitter users cry about Niche Gamer article over bad localization

NEO: The World Ends With You

An article from us at Niche Gamer that provided examples of the politicization and inaccuracy of modern localization led to some on social media whining about the single example in the header image.

Several of the Twitter users were of the same contingent known for whining about attractive female designs in video games and things they personally deem “offensive”, as indicated by their social media profiles.


Such individuals claimed it was “just one line”, or to “touch grass”, when these commenters are the same types of people who believe “kuro gyaru” culture is “blackface” and that things they don’t like should be removed from video games and entertainment.

Here is the case in point with some of these comments directed towards the article:

Others were offended by the header image for the article and falsely claimed the line from NEO: The World Ends With You is “accurate” and the “same as the Japanese line”, all the while ignoring the tons of other examples of localization atrocities present in the article.

Here are some of the comments, with some issuing death threats whilst others claimed that all the examples were “fine localization”:
