Twitter users experience a “daily limit” error, causing widespread disruption

Twitter

Many users of the social media site Twitter have been unable to post since approximately mid-afternoon in the United States.

Users who attempted to post are reporting a warning saying they’ve been tweeting too much and will have to wait before making further posts.

The warning says: “You are over the daily limit for sending Tweets”. However users who haven’t even posted all day are getting the error, grinding the site to an abrupt halt.

The error comes just as Twitter under new owner Elon Musk had announced an end to free API access for businesses; leading some to speculate if the issue is related to the implementation of said policy.

For now, Twitter users will just have to wait for when (hopefully not if!) service is restored.
