Twitter acquisition is completed by Elon Musk, top company execs already fired

Twitter

Twitter is now wholly owned by our spaceman son, Elon Musk, following months of battles to acquire the social media platform.

Multiple outlets (WSJ, WaPo, etc) have reported the deal closed Thursday night, and that Elon has already fired most of the company’s top executives.

Execs that were fired already, reportedly, include: Chief Executive Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, as well as Vijaya Gadde, head of legal policy, trust and safety.

Musk had previously teased that he would also stop paying the company’s board, which earn millions annually, effectively firing them as well.

Once the agreement had been reached for Musk to buy the company, staff had stalled getting internal data to prove their claims of usage and bots/spam. Musk tried to back out of the deal, then Twitter sued him, after which the court ordered a trial should the deal not go through.
