Independent developer Spiral House and publisher Maximum Games have announced the release date for their first original IP, Troll and I.
The action-adventure game will launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 21st in North America and March 24th in Europe. The game will cost $49.99. Featured above, you can view a new cinematic trailer showing off the big furry Troll beastie.
The protagonist, Otto, will have to explore, fight, and solve puzzles with his giant Troll companion. Both characters have their own skills, quirks, and abilities. There’s a skill tree, a crafting system, and even cooperative split-screen local multiplayer.
Here’s a rundown on the game, via Spiral House:
Step into an enchanting vision of the past in Troll and I, a story of friendship and survival against the odds. Based in post-World War II Scandinavia, Troll and I combines harsh reality with a folkloric twist. Take on the roles of Otto, a young boy, and Troll, a fierce supernatural creature with whom Otto forms a rare bond, as they struggle to survive the wilderness, their inexperience, and bloodthirsty hunters on their trail.
With a bounty on their heads and nobody but each other to rely on, these two heroes face seemingly insurmountable odds and treachery at every turn. They must work together if they’re to survive—their unlikely friendship is their only hope.
