Treyarch: No Plans for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on Switch

Alongside the recent gameplay reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, a Nintendo Switch version for the game was spotted online at retailers. Fans began to speculate if the latest in their ongoing shooter franchise would make it to the hybrid console, however developer Treyarch has shot down the possibility.

“No, there is not,” said Treyarch senior producer Yale Miller when asked (via Twinfinite) if there is a possibility for a Nintendo Switch version to happen.

It’s also worth pointing out the Nintendo Switch operating system lacks a multitude of features other platforms like Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One have had for a long time.

Considering the company recently re-iterated you’ll be stuck using their limited and convoluted Smartphone App to do something as simple as voice chat with people in online games, multiplayer-focused games probably won’t be coming to the hybrid console in droves just yet.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is launching across Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 12th, worldwide.
