Long-running Japanese developer Treasure celebrated their 30th anniversary this past weekend, and they’re teasing a big new game they have in the works.
“On June 19, 2022, Treasure, Inc. celebrates its 30th anniversary!.” the developer said in a tweet.
They added, “In this 30th anniversary year, we are working hard to release ‘that’ title that has been requested by many of you. We look forward to your continued support of Treasure.”
The company was founded back on June 19th, 1992 by former Konami programmer Masato Maegawa who was joined by other staff. Maegawa remains the company president. They’re mostly known for making action/shooting games, with their most notable titles being Gunstar Heroes (1993) and Ikaruga (2001).
While the developer hasn’t made an entirely new game since 2013’s Gaist Crusher, it’ll be interesting to see what “that” game, heavily demanded by fans, turns out to be. What would you like to see from acclaimed shooter/action studio?
