Grasshopper Manufacture, Marvelous, Shirogumi, and Nintendo have announced Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.
The new game is coming to Nintendo Switch, and stars No More Heroes protagonist Travis Touchdown. Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer.
While gameplay wasn’t revealed, the mechanics are described as matching the style of No More Heroes with a bunch of collaborations of some kind via well known and prominent game developers (the developer of Hotline Miami was teased). Details for that are coming later.
Here’s the first artwork for the game:
The story takes place seven years after the events of No More Heroes, where The Bad has returned to enact his revenge against Travis Touchdown for murdering his daughter, Bad Girl. Right before their battle, both characters are sucked into a phantom game console dubbed the Death Drive Mark II.
Much like the original game, the only way to escape this strange new fate is to battle through various punk-rock styled levels and clear all six games, alongside their ridiculously over the top bosses.
Development is being handled by Marvelous, Shirogumi, and Grasshopper Manufacture, under series creator Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda. The game is being made in Unreal Engine 4, and is a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
A release date for Travis Strikes Again is set for sometime next year.
