Half Human Games have launched the Kickstarter campaign for their “tower defense dungeon crawler RPG” Dwerve.
As we previously reported; you play as a young dwarven tinkerer, exploring ancient ruins filled with weapons and traps. Now, you are turning them against the Witch Queen Vandra the Wicked, and her army of orcs monsters.
The Kickstarter campaign has now launched. Seeking $10,000 USD, the campaign’s stretch goals include Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 platforms, and additional languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Russian).
While the stretch goal tiers are not explicitly mentioned, the campaign page does note “PJ and Peter have been working full-time, but cannot continue to do so for the entire duration of the game’s development. The first stretch goal of $30,000 ensures we can work full-time on the game throughout the remainder of it’s development and, therefore, extend the story and add content.”
Localization is the priority after this is achieved. An example of the game’s soundtrack was also revealed (you can find that here) along with a reminder that the game has demo currently available on Steam.
Backer rewards include a digital copy of the game, digital wallpaper, your name appearing in the credits, beta access, Discord server channel access and titles, a digital soundtrack, a poster, a shirt, a SNES-style box and manual, art book (digital, softcover or hardcover), hoodie, and appearing in the in-game Hall of Heroes (with the size and style of statue depending on your donation size).
Other rewards include designing villagers, warriors, enemies, turrets, and bosses. It should be noted this begins at the $600 USD tier.
The Kickstarter has raised $4,608 at this time of writing, and the campaign ends September 24th.

Backstory & Lore
In the massive hollow mountain of Mount Crowcrest, there once lived a great nation of dwarves. The dwarves discovered power stones while mining deep in the mountain. They used them to power machines and, eventually, entire cities. They lived in peace and prosperity for centuries.
Over time they became infatuated with power stones and dug deeper to find more. One day they dug too deep and unleashed the Gloomdark Hordes, an army of trolls and monstrous creatures. Once the dwarves realized that trolls turned to stone in the sunlight, they fled far from the mountain and found refuge on the sunny Hills of Brekka.
Centuries passed and, over time, the dwarves forgot their traditions and abandoned craftsmanship and innovation in favor of warring and raiding. History became myth, and myth became bedtime stories. But whispers of a long forgotten darkness echo throughout the valley of the great mountain. It can be heard in the Snoring Forest, by those who dare to enter…
Dwerve launches Spring 2020 for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux (all via Steam); pending a successful Kickstarter campaign.
