Publisher Square Enix and Animate Co. have announced Towa Tsugai, a new “couple training battle fantasy RPG” for smartphones.

Towa Tsugai is launching for smartphones as a free-to-play game, with in-game microtransactions.

A release for Towa Tsugai is coming “soon” for Japan, but the official Twitter account (@towatsugai) was launched alongside a teaser website.

Here’s a rundown on Towa Tsugai:

Square Enix and Animate have teamed up for the first time in a marketing partnership to present a new game, Towa Tsugai, the first-ever marketing partnership between Square Enix and Animate!

This title features Nao Shiramoto (ILCA) for the original story and world setting, and Keiichi Okabe and Shotaro Seo (MONACA) for the music. In addition, Yukisame Yukisame has been invited as an original character designer for this completely new work.

To commemorate the release announcement, the “Twatsugai x Animate Tsugai Campaign” has started today. By following the official Twitter account (@towatsugai) and entering the campaign through CLUB animate, 1,111 people will be selected by drawing to win a total of 300,000 animate points.

I did my best to create this work so that it would touch the hearts of those who see it, even if only a little.
