Touhou Kobuto V Delayed to September, Switch Version Announced

NIS America has announced a delay for Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle.

The game will forgo its planned July release date for one in September, the reason being a Nintendo Switch version, which the publisher also confirmed at the same time. Now, the game will launch across PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and the Switch on September 5th in North America and September 8th in Europe.

It’s worth mentioning both the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions will get both a retail and digital release, while the PS Vita version is digital-only.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via NIS America:

The Story

Reimu is spending her time at the Hakurei Shrine like any other day until a few people visiting the shrine spoke of rumours that a vampire is joining forces with the yokais to assault human beings. Concerned, Reimu steps up and goes to the Scarlet Devil Mansion to investigate the vampire.

What mysterious figure is behind all of these escalating attacks…?

Why did they have to delay the PS4 and Vita versions just to release the Switch version?
