How many gallons of beer did NISA donate for ZUN to give them the greenlight?

Considering that we also have the next Super Robot Wars OG game being translated to English too, I don’t think we’re too far off.

It’s a Touhou fan game, I don’t think ZUN has anything to do with it.

I know, but just the thought of them making an offering to lord ZUN is amusing to me.

Why’d it have to be NISA? Couldn’t it be someone better publishing it?

“Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!”

Atlus have done 3 SRW OG games before. Heck even two of them made it to Europe.

I recall ZUN being cool with people doing whatever they want with Touhou as long as it isn’t commercial though. So I have no idea how this ties into things.

I don’t remember where I read the article, so take this with a heaping scoop of salt, but I remember reading an article saying before that ZUN was trying to reach the western fandom by selling his games on some site that ships products to the west. Maybe allowing this is him trying to go further with that.

On the positive side, there isn’t that much to Gensou Rondo you can fuck up, but this is NISA, I’m sure they’ll find a way to implement a game-breaking bug not present in the Japanese version. I hope NISA isn’t contracted for any possible future Touhou NA releases, I’d probably cry.
