Total War: Shogun 2 – Fall of the Samurai Rebranded as a Total War Saga Game

Nearly a decade after it originally released, Total War: Shogun 2‘s popular standalone expansion Fall of the Samurai has been rebranded by Creative Assembly and Sega.

The game has been relaunched on Steam as Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai. Total War Saga is a series of spin-offs that launched last year with Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, which was rather poorly received by fans and critics alike.

The rebranding doesn’t seem to actually affect the game or its functionality, though current owners will receive all of the Fall of the Samurai faction packs for free if they don’t already have them. The relaunch also came with a hefty 75% off discount that lasts until August 19th.

Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai is available on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam for $29.99.
