Co-developer Dual Effect have announced an update to classic style survival horror game Tormented Souls, adding the map to a single button.
As Caroline Walker investigates the disappearance of twin girls at Winterlake mansion turned hospital; she awakes naked in a bathtub and hooked up to medical equipment.
In classic fixed-perspective survival horror, players must look for resources, tools, and clues to decipher puzzles and handle foes. Use mirrors to enter alternate realities, where more horror awaits.
Dual Effect announced on Twitter that the game’s map system would be updated. Our own review noted it lacked a map screen, and players had to open their inventory and manually select the map. Now, the game will include a “one button map” which will highlight your current position.
“We could have added an arrow too,” Dual Effect notes, “but we don’t want to go too much easy on you guys.”
Tormented Souls is available on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
