An anime adaptation of Too Many Losing Heroines will premiere this July as part of the Summer 2024 anime season.
The series follows Kazuhiko Nukumizu, a “background character” at his local high school. One day, he witnesses one of the school’s popular girls getting rejected by the guy she liked for another woman.
This isn’t a one off event, other pretty girls are being rejected by their childhood friends. Kazuhiko finds himself in the enviable position to cheer them up after they all join the Literature Club!
You can read a summary of the series below.
The popular girls in Nukumizu Kazuhiko’s class seem to have it all–good looks, lots of friends, and the hearts of all their crushes! Except…not?! Upon witnessing the shocking turn of events where the popular Yanami Anna gets friend-zoned by the boy who has crushed on her since childhood, Kazuhiko starts noticing all the fan favorites are getting similarly turned down by the boys they like. Surrounded by heartbroken heroines, can he keep their spirits up and make sure they don’t give up? Or is this a rom-com world where the girls never get their dream guy?
The series is the latest anime from A-1 Pictures (not to be confused with the steak sauce). A-1 has previously worked on popular titles like the original anime Lycoris Recoil, as well as adaptations of Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Persona.
The manga and light novel for Too Many Losing Heroines is licensed for English release by Seven Seas Entertainment.
