Tokyo RPG Factory Reveals Lost Sphear for PC, PS4, and Switch

Following a brief teaser, I Am Setsuna developer Tokyo RPG Factory has announced their next game.

The new title is called Lost Sphear, and it will release across PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch sometime this fall in Japan and early next year in North America and Europe – for $49.99. Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the game, via Square Enix:

The adventure of LOST SPHEAR begins in a remote town where a young boy, Kanata, awakens from a devastating dream to find his hometown disappearing. To stop the world from being lost forever, Kanata and his comrades set out to rebuild the world around them with the power of Memory by manifesting thoughts into matter.

Expanding upon the beloved features from their debut title, I Am Setsuna™, LOST SPHEAR features an enhanced gameplay system with a revamped ATB battle system where players can strategize and freely adjust their placement mid-fight, seamless environments, and various locations to explore.

Finally, here are the game’s first screenshots:

Looks great. I’m glad Square hires these smaller companies to still make old school style JRPGs.

It seems they didn’t learn anything from Setsuna. 50$ is way too high of a price, especially if there is no physical release.

Looks fun, and the music sounds beautiful again. I’d be happy to play this on Vita or mobile Switch, but for the love of god please don’t make it a PS4 digital exclusive.

Looks interesting. Still need to play I Am Setsuna.

Hopefully there is a physical release on Switch in the West.

I’m not paying $50 for a digital only rpg that looks like its a mobile game. Better be physical and look a lot more polished or drop $20.

There is a physical release for both PS4 and Switch. It’s exclusive to the Square Enix Online Store.

$50 Dollars for a PS4/PC game that looks like a 3DS/VITA game is too much, I’m gonna wait until it’s cheap as fuck

I guess that whole “no vita no buy” didn’t work for the vita guys. Lol

Blooming flowers… mist… the moon…. it’s like they’re trying to cram in as many FF references and images as possible. Oh, and the Rapture as well.

Yeah and it’s through the SE store which is worse than being digital only.

The world doesn’t deserve to exist without alcohol so im fine if the world vanishes too.

To be fair, unless it’s a visual novel or a lewd game both the audience and developers have moved away from Vita for the most part.

I’m a huge fan of anything that is classic turn based, so I’m not too picky.

The only thing I didn’t like was 4 Heroes Of Light
