Tokyo Game Show 2015 Attendance Exceeds 268,000

Now that Tokyo Game Show 2015 has come to a close, we’ve gotten the yearly expo’s attendance records via a press release.

In total, 268,446 people attended the Tokyo Game Show this year, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association announced in a press release.

This year’s Tokyo Game Show ran from September 17th to the 20th at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The 2013 Tokyo Game Show retains the record in attendance, with 270,197 attendees.

The busiest day this year was September 20th, the final day, where 112,230 people attended. You can find the full breakdown of attendance below:

  • September 17 (business day) – 29,058 attended
  • September 18 (business day) – 29,557 attended
  • September 19 (public day) – 97,601 attended (including 10,360 in Family Area)
  • September 20 (public day) – 112,230 attended (including 14,517 in Family Area)

Tokyo Game Show 2016 is already confirmed to run between September 15th to the 18th.

    For reference, after 2007/2008 (the downsized Santa Monica disaster) E3 can only manage ranges of 45,000-50,000 (down from E3’s 2005 peak of 75,000)

    It is quite good that TGS has public days. E3 should have something similar.

    Also, isn’t E3 closed for general audiences? TGS seems much more casual and more focused on actual games rather than the marketing of games and the companies making the games.

    Only the last two days are open to the public at TGS.

    they changed it once
    some japanese youtubers played a FOB mission against eachother
    that’s it
    i guess we have to wait for 10/6 for the FOB update
