God of War: Ascension director Todd Papy is leaving Sony Santa Monica, which he shared via his own personal twitter today:
Yesterday was my last day @SonySantaMonica. I'm extremely honored to have been part of that team. <3 you SSM!
Time for the next adventure!!

When asked why he was leaving SSM, he gave us a very clear response of his very literal move:
@excaliburps We decided to move to Germany. We want to experience a different culture & all the wonderful things that Europe has to offer.

In case you were worried that he is leaving the games industry, he reassured fans that he is in fact, not:
@excaliburps I haven't quit games ;)

Germany has a lot of talented developers, so maybe we’ll be seeing him join a start up over there? We want to wish Todd the best of luck in all of his endeavors.
Sony Santa Monica’s next big project still hasn’t been revealed yet, although there have been rumors that it will be a new IP.
