Tired of Waiting for Final Fantasy Type-0? Fan Subs Are Coming

final fantasy type-0 ss 1

Despite Final Fantasy Type-0 director Hajime Tabata being hopeful for Square Enix to finally localize the acclaimed Playstation Portable RPG, we still haven’t heard any true rumblings from the developer/publisher.

Now the wait is finally seeming to be over, as a group of enterprising fans and enthusiasts over at Sky’s RomHacking Nest have been diligently translating the game and working on a real playable build of the game, in English. Currently in beta, they’ve translated everything from menus, scripts, and secondary text – the only thing left are a few of the cutscenes.

Check out Final Fantasy Type-0 in English below:

The English translation release will likely only be playable on the PPSSPP emulator. The team has been working with the guys behind the emulator to enable ISO’s that are bigger than 2GB (as Final Fantasy Type-0 is huge), which also lets their beta patches work on the emulator as well.

A release date is not confirmed for the finished project, but you better believe we’ll update you guys when it is announced.
