Tim Walz partners with World of Warcraft streamer to promote rally

Tim Walz WoW

The Democratic campaign of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are partnering with a World of Warcraft streamer to try and reach out to the Gamer demographic.

According to Wired, tonight’s Tim Walz rally will be hosted by World of Warcraft streamer Preheat who will also be commentating, playing WoW, and encouraging viewers to vote.

This isn’t the first time the Democratic Party has attempted to court gamers, last election cycle Biden and Harris campaigned on Animal Crossing: New Horizons and who can forget the cringeworthy “Pokemon GO to the polls.”

While Wired originally reported that the rally would be streamed at 6:30 ET, at the time of writing (7:38 ET) Preheat is playing World of Warcraft without any engagement from the Harris-Walz campaign. Preheat confirmed on stream that the rally has been delayed twice this evening.

World of Warcraft is available on Microsoft Windows (through Battle.net). The newest expansion The War Within is out now!
