The second season of Tiger & Bunny has been announced.
The 2011 anime by Sunrise (Directed by Keiichi Satou) sees Stern Bild City, protected by superheroes. However, these heroes are sponsored by (real life) companies, and ranked based on their performances. Kotetsu T. Kaburagi (Wild Tiger) teamed up with his new partner Barnaby Brooks Jr. (Bunny), having different ideas on what a hero should be.
Now, the official Twitter account for the series has announced a new series coming in 2022. The new series will be set after the events of 2014’s Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising-.
This time around (according to the official website) Bandai Namco Pictures will be will be animating, and Mitsuko Kase will be directing (Glass Maiden, Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, Miller’s Report, The World God Only Knows: Magical Star Kanon 100%, Young Black Jack).
The official website notes that Series Composition will be by Seiji Nishida (西田征史), and Character Design by returning Masakazu Katsura. Voice actors include returning Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu T. Kaburagi), and Seiichi Morita (森田成一, Barnaby Brooks Jr.) (Translation: Google Translate).
However, Anime News Network reports Series Composition will be handled by Masafumi Nishida, and Barnaby Brooks Jr. voice actor as Masakazu Morita. It is likely there are those individuals preferred names.
The official website notes that for streaming “The TIGER & BUNNY series is being popularly distributed on each distribution site!!” (Translation: Google Translate).
“Unlimited Services” (subscription based streaming website) include Bandai Channel, D Anime Store, Flat Videos, Hulu, U-NEXT, Unlimited Animation, and Netflix.
“Pay-as-you-go” streaming websites include Video Path, J: COM On Demand, PlayStation Video, Prime Video, TSUTAYA TV, DMM, GYAO! Store, Video Market, Actovilla, Hikari TV, Google Play, HAPPY! Video (on mobile devices), Rakuten TV, and Music.jp. All of the above services are only confirmed for Japan.
Tiger & Bunny‘s second season premieres 2022 on Google Play, Hulu, Netflix, and more in Japan. A western release has not been announced at this time.
