THQ Nordic is Working on Two Unannounced Nintendo Switch Games

Earlier this morning, Austrian publisher THQ Nordic announced more intellectual properties they’ve added to their burgeoning roster of franchises and games.

The most interesting bit from their press release was the slight reveal that they’re working on two unannounced Nintendo Switch games.

“We are excited for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s new platform, and already have two other projects in development for it,” reads the press release.

The properties acquired include the following:

  • Sphinx (and the Cursed Mummy); Mobile Gaming Studios Ltd.
  • War Leaders: Clash of Nations (Enigma Software Productions S.L.)
  • Legends of War (Enigma Software Productions S.L.)

Previously, THQ Nordic did make a blatant tease for a potential third entry in the Darksiders series, which you can read more about here.

What do you hope to see coming out from THQ Nordic? Sound off in the comments below!

never heard of any of those IPs. But if Darksiders 3 was Switch-exclusive, well, I’d just about have to buy one; if for nothing other than that one game.

    Don’t disappoint plz, THQ Nordic.

Darksiders 3 would be nice, but I’d like it if they also released 1 and 2 on the Switch as well.

Also, a Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy remake would be awesome too. Even better if they announce a sequel to it.

either try hard and deliver good or don’t bother at all

it being a nintendo system it’s guaranteed some nintendo games on launch, if you want to compete with that you can’t half ass it

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy was a great game. I wouldn’t mind seeing another one or even a remake.

I’m more than willing to be content with older games like these being preserved through getting PC releases.

Darksiders, though, that does need a sequel.

I’m going to guess those two games are Elex and Battle Chasers: Nightwar.

Darksiders 3 would totally be another good reason to get a switch. Feels like Nintendo is going all out with this console.

Doubtable that Nordic would cuck out considering how firmly multiplatform they are, they’re in a different place than the madness that gripped Sega in 2012.

It would be stupid to turn down that money though.

Currently 50/50 on eventually picking up a Switch but Darksiders 3 would be a system seller for me if it were exclusive.

THQ nordic is responsible for both titan quest and darksiders, so i have high hopes for them. Also darksiders 3 would be awesome, especially if we get to play as fury this time.

After getting burned by Nintendo with their localization and nothing for the Wii U, I really just don’t care about the switch. All these publishers are acting like it is a surefire thing, but PC players aren’t interested, console players aren’t interested, nintendos fanbase has dwindled as a result of their decisions in the last 5 years and Treehouse, casuals are still on mobile.

Having games isn’t going to make amends for the years of bad will a lot of people feel toward Nintendo now.

It was stupid for Sega when they did it, that shitty deal generated more negative PR than positive and the awful games that came out of it hurt the Sonic brand destroying the progress they had in repairing it with Colors and Generations. Nordic recently went to the trouble of porting the first Darksiders to Xbone/PS4 so the Bayonetta excuse of them not having interest in the franchise can’t be used here.
