This Week in Warhammer – Ork Beast Snaggas Box Set Coming Soon

Warhammer 40,000 Ork Beast Snaggas

Games Workshop have previewed the Warhammer pre-orders coming this weekend, focusing on the highly anticipated 40,000 Ork Beast Snaggas army set.

As with all Sunday previews, Games Workshop released a recap video discussing some of the upcoming releases, as well as the kind of articles and content fans can expect to find this week on the Warhammer Community site and official Warhammer TV Twitch channel. You can find it below.

The Ork Beast Snaggas are a new reimagining of the classic Snakebites Ork kultur, brought up to date with a huge variety of new plastic kits. This large, savage subset of Orks were announced earlier this year, and differ from their kin by their general disdain for fancy gubbins and know-wots like trukks, killa kans, deffcoptas, or dakkajets.

Instead, the Beast Snaggas pride themselves on being expert hunters that specifically target the biggest monsters and war walkers in the enemy army. While the Beast Snaggas do use some guns and gadgets here and there, for the most part they rely on brutal scraped together melee weapons, and their wide range of specially bred Squig war beasts.

The Beast Snaggas will first be available in a limited run boxed set. This set contains the new reimagining of the classic Ork character Zodgrodd Wartsnagga, as well as a Nob on Smasha Squig, 3 Squighog Boyz, a Bomb Squig, and 20 Beast Snagga Boyz. Besides the miniatures, the book also contains a limited edition version of the new Ork codex, Ork data cards, and a transfer sheet.

While the box is a limited run, the Beast Snaggas, the codex, the data cards, and all the rest of the new Ork models will be getting separate releases soon.

The Beast Snagga army box are the only new miniatures coming this week, but there are some Black Library novels to look forward to as well. Warcry Catacombs: Blood of the Everchosen by Richard Strachan is a new Warcry novel that follows tribes of Scions of the Flame, Untamed Beasts, and Splintered Fang Chaos cultists fighting for supremacy in the vaults beneath the Eightpoints.

Meanwhile, Graham McNeil’s classic 40k novel Storm of Iron is getting a limited run special edition re-release. This signed hardback collector’s edition is limited to 1250 copies, and contains two short stories, a new introduction by Graham McNeil, colored page edges, a full art page, and a ribbon bookmark.

That’s all for the upcoming Games Workshop pre-orders and This Week in Warhammer news. All of these items will be up for pre-order on the 17th, and will get a full release the following Saturday on the 24th.

Throughout the week, the Warhammer Community site will run articles teasing rules from the upcoming Ork codex, and the Warhammer TV Twitch channel will run a variety of hobby streams.
